Mary was referred to Turning Point for counselling for anxiety and depression which began after her father died. She found it helped and feels much more positive both mentally and physically.

Mary is the main carer for her two grandchildren, with the eldest not attending school and showing anti-social behaviour. She was referred to the Children’s Hub and was allocated a case worker. Her main aspirations were to get the support for her grandchild and return back to work.

She has found being with Hopeful Families very “helpful and informative” during her short time on the programme. It has had a big impact on working with her health conditions. She feels so much better and can handle her health well.

Mary has now successfully secured employment, working part-time as a cleaner at a local secondary school. She says she is looking forward to working, but also getting some time away from her usual day to day routine.
